Fall 2025 final exams

Please submit your request for a final exam classroom for any in-person final exams by the deadline, which is November 7, 2025.

The list of final exams and common exams that have already been scheduled is available on the Fall 2025 Final Exam and Common Exam Scheduled Rooms spreadsheet.

Spring 2026 (1263) room assignments

Room assignments for spring 2026 (1263) are now available on the Class Schedule. We still have about 1% left to assign for spring 2026.

Please remember, many classes already have classrooms assigned. If changes are made to a class (dates, times, etc.), the classroom assigned may be dropped. We are getting down to very few GPC classrooms being available from 9 a.m.–2 p.m. M–Th. If the assigned classroom does get dropped, it may be assigned to a different class. Please let us know as soon as possible if a classroom needs to be reassigned.

Please note the following:

  • We only find general purpose classrooms for classes that have a component type of LEC or DIS with a blank Facility ID in CCS. If the component type is LAB, FWK, IND, or ROT, we will not actively look for a classroom for your class.
  • If you notice a class without a room assignment, please notify ocmsched@umn.edu.
  • If you need assistance adding a departmental space to a class, email ocmsched@umn.edu.
  • Remind instructors to verify their classroom assignment before the first class, as room assignments are subject to change prior to the start of the term.

Summer 2026 (1265) CCS is open

CCS is still open for the initial build of the 2026 May/summer semester (1265) until December 8, 2025

A request from the Disability Resource Center (DRC)

The DRC recently transitioned to a new accommodation management system called Accessible Information Management (AIM). AIM is set up to pull course information from the University's common data layer so that it can send accommodation letters to anyone who is listed as a Primary Instructor or Secondary Instructor of a class. Whenever possible, please list actual instructors of a class in CCS as a Primary Instructor or Secondary Instructor to help ensure that accommodation letters are sent to the appropriate instructors. We understand there are certain circumstances when other instructor roles are used for Canvas, grading, or other purposes. Because accommodation letters contain sensitive information, we want to ensure they are only shared with the correct people.

New Academic Support Resources website

The Academic Support Resources website was updated in September 2025. Some of the resources CCS schedulers might find helpful have moved:

  • For the CCS how-to guides: Click on the Technology and process resources drop down, select Applications, then PeopleSoft. Scroll down and you’ll find How-To guides for PeopleSoft; the CCS guides are in the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions area.
  • For Faculty Center guides (to help instructors): Click on the Technology and process resources drop down, select Applications, then Faculty Center.
  • For Grading Resources: Click Technology and process resources drop down, then Grading Resources (this is now where you will find grading how-to guides).
  • For Final Exam Information: Click Technology and process resources drop down, then Final Exam Information.

25Live tip

If you need to make an update to a class in PeopleSoft, make sure you are not also editing the class in 25Live at the same time. Why? Unfortunately, the update from PeopleSoft will be blocked as 25Live thinks you are in the process of updating the class, and all other attempts to update the class will be blocked.

So, what can you do if this happens? Get out of the class in 25Live and make another small change to the class in PeopleSoft/CCS to trigger the actual update. Example: Add 1 to the enrollment capacity and save. Once you see the update in 25Live, go back into PeopleSoft and change it back to the correct enrollment.

Do not use “Pat” field in CCS

It was brought to our attention, and some of you may have noticed, that a new field has appeared on the meetings tab on the UM CCS Maintain Sched Of Class page. The field, called “Pat,” has different meeting pattern days that can be selected when adding a meeting pattern. This field has historically been hidden and only appeared after our last PeopleSoft Image update. At this time, we ask that you NOT use this field, and we are working on getting it hidden again.

CCS user workshops

The Scheduling team provides monthly CCS user workshops in which we connect with the departmental schedulers and review relevant topics. These workshops are held over Zoom on the second Tuesday of the month from 11:00-11:30 a.m. (15-20 minute presentation with time for discussion).

To attend a workshop, simply add the class schedule production calendar to your Google Calendar:

A Zoom meeting link and materials will be added to the calendar event closer to the day of the workshop.

Upcoming topics

  • November 11 - Class Permissions
  • December 9 - Grades and Instructors

If there is an upcoming topic you would like to discuss, please feel free to send your questions/concerns to ocmsched@umn.edu. Also, if there is a topic you would like to discuss in future workshops, please let us know.
