Class scheduling in CCS is in full swing for spring 2017 (1173). CCS Open Initial Build for spring 2017 ends on April 25, 2016.
- Cancel any class sections that have rolled forward but will not be taking place for spring 2017. OCM will remove class sections that have been canceled from the schedule for all classes that are canceled during CCS Open Initial Build (through April 25).
- Update any class sections that require changes. For resources on working in CCS, check out the quick start guides available on the ASR training team's website.
- Add department room assignments (labs, meeting rooms, department classrooms, etc.) by April 25 directly in Astra Schedule. For resources on how to assign departmental rooms to classes in Astra, review the Astra Academic quick start guides.
- Utilize standard class meeting times for all your classes. Classes meeting at standard times are prioritized for classroom assignments and we cannot guarantee that a general purpose classroom will be available at a nonstandard meeting time.
- Set realistic enrollment capacities for all of your class sections. We place classes into classroom based on enrollment caps and requested room capacities listed in CCS. If we have trouble finding a classroom, we also review historical enrollments.
- Distribute your department’s classes and enrollments across both the day and the week. Ensure compliance to the Class Scheduling policies as classroom space is at a premium on campus. We will not be able to schedule all classes into general purpose classroom unless compliance is met.
- Review the Class scheduling distribution summary to check for compliance and the Liberal Education distribution summary to see how your classes that meet LE requirements are spread throughout the day and week.
