Science Teaching and Student Services Building Update

The cold start to 2010 has not affected the construction progress for
the Science
Teaching and Student Services Building (ST+SS). McGough has
successfully enclosed the building, which is being warmed by two
temporary heaters. All 300 panels of the glass curtain wall are
installed and the strip windows on the Pleasant St. side are finished.
Work on the inside of the building is proceeding on schedule.

Two
of the three interior stairs are complete. The drywall work is nearly
completed on level five with the other floors not too far behind. The
two elevators for the building are being installed and the raised
access flooring work will be starting shortly.

The metal
panels are being installed on the mechanical penthouse on the roof and
installation of the architectural precast base for the curtain wall
will beginning shortly.
